A 73-year-old man has been arrested in Cherangany Chepriso, Trans-Nzoia County for killing his drunk son after he rudely woke him from his sleep.
According to police, the 31-year-old son who had been away for four years arrived home around 7:00pm, as his elderly father was taking his evening nap when the incident occurred.
The victim headed for his father’s bedroom shaking and lifting his bed so as to wake him up. The angry father woke up reaching for an nearby rod and hit his son on the head. He then progressed to tie a rope around the victim’s neck and restrained him on a sofa.
The neighbors informed the chief and police about the incident on arriving at the scene. They found the victim’s body lifeless, and still restrained on the sofa.
The suspect is being held at the Cherengany Police Station.
