Kenya Kwanza Presidential Candidate William Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed the latest opinion poll findings from Infotrak, which show that he is lagging his major presidential competitor Raila Odinga.

Ruto, while dismissing the poll results which indicate a 4 percent gap behind Raila Odinga said there was a plot to deceive the people and that the Azimio head is benefiting from State support to further his presidential candidacy.

As the presidential election approaches, the deputy president spoke in Mandera County on Wednesday, while exploring the vast North Eastern area on a vote-gathering expedition.

“Walisema NSIS, mara deep state, mimi nataka niwaambie, hawa watu tumewashinda kwa njia zote.” DP Ruto stated

After the IEBC booted out 53 presidential aspirants, four presidential candidates; Ruto, Odinga, Prof. George Wajackoyah of the Roots party, and David Mwaure Waihiga of the Agano party, are in the August contest.  However, the election has been declared a two-horse race, with Ruto alleging that Odinga is relying on state machinery to further his campaign.

Garissa Township MP Aden Duale chimed in, urging citizens to unite behind the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader, saying that he would guarantee that the people’s needs were met.
