Government extends directive on cessation of movement in Eastleigh, Old Town

The Government has extended its directive on cessation of movement directive in Nairobi’s Eastleigh estate and Mombasa’s Old Town in efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus.

According to the National Emergency Response Committee on Coronavirus,  the cessation of movement will be in place until June 6.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe reiterated that restaurants and mosques in the two regions will remain closed during the period.

Free targeted testing is also ongoing at St Teresa’s Boy’s Secondary School, New Eastleigh Primary School and Zawadi Primary School in Nairobi.

During the Press briefing on Wednesday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said Mombasa continues to be a challenge.

This after 30 of out the 66 new cases reported on Wednesday were confirmed to be from the coastal city.
