The Iten Police Department and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have declared that they will work with Interpol to find the suspect in the killing of Kenyan Bahraini athlete Damaris Muthee Mutua.


Mutua’s decomposing body was discovered at a residence in Lilies Estate, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, on Tuesday, April 19.


The 28-year-old woman is claimed to have been murdered by the suspect two days before she was discovered at her rented property in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
The investigation in Iten is being led by Detective Andalo Munga, who has claimed that they would continue to investigate until the perpetrator is arrested and charged.
“We will utilize all legal means at our disposal to ensure that the fleeing suspect is apprehended and extradited to Kenya for questioning and prosecution,” the statement said.
