ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga has been accused of being behind the current divisions and differences rocking Jubilee Party.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said after handshake between ODM leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta, divisions and wrangles in the ruling party emerged, contrary to promotion of unity and nationhood.
“The political divisions and suspicions have slowed down implementation of development programmes countrywide, instead of being springboard for unity and faster development,” Ndindi added.
The legislator was speaking on Wednesday in Kiharu Constituency, Murang’a County, when he officially opened chiefs offices built through funds from the local National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Ndindi further alleged that the opposition chief political designs are not meant to bring unity in the country, but to foster disintegration of Jubilee Party with the help of the Party’s Secretary General Raphael Tuju .
The legislator added: “From what I am seeing is that Tuju is being used by Raila to break up Jubilee Party for enhancement of ODM’s leader selfish political interests which is clearly recorded in the country’s political landscape and history.”
He observed that some leaders who championed Jubilee Party interests and campaigned vigorously for the Party’s victory are now being ignored as much attention is being given to leaders in the opposition.
“We championed for Jubilee Party victory but after handshake, some of us are not being recognized. Kenyans knows the development record of the ruling party and will always rally behind it,” said Ndindi.
He lamented that implementation of projects in the second Jubilee administration is not as fast as during its first term when it ascended into leadership.
The youthful leader vowed to stay put and continue serving the ruling party, adding that he and other legislators will not leave the government as some people are wishing.
“Jubilee has trustworthy leaders and we will not abandon it even after some claims that there are some of its leaders who have formed new parties so as to weaken the ruling party,” he added.
Recently, one faction of the Party led by Tuju introduced changes in the National Management Executive Committee, but another group led by Jubilee Deputy Secretary General Caleb Kositany dismissed the changes.
The Kiharu MP argued that those people being used to bring down the ruling party will not succeed adding that majority of Kenyans are behind Jubilee leadership.
Meanwhile, the legislator condemned recent eviction of residents of Kariobangi in Nairobi who are alleged to have occupied government land.
He decried that the affected families were subjected to a lot of suffering in view of the heavy rains and the threats posed by Covid -19 pandemic.
“If the land belongs to the government, those in authority could have waited until the pandemic is contained. Evicting families to spend nights in cold without basic amenities is evil and amounts to gross violation of human rights,” claimed the legislator.
