Kithure Kindiki

Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki believes that Mt Kenya region will vote for Deputy President William Ruto to the last man come the August 9 polls.

The choice of Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua as Raila Odinga’s running partner, according to Kindiki, is insignificant in enticing the Mt Kenya area to support Raila.

The senator predicted that because the Mt Kenya area is heavily anchored in the UDA party and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, Ruto will win a majority of the votes he expressed in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday evening.

“I doubt she will be able to turn the tide of UDA and Kenya Kwanza, not even in Kirinyaga. She will not withstand the tide of Kenya Kwanza. It is too strong,” he said.

Despite the fact that he praised Karua’s selection as a sensible decision, Kindiki believes Azimio coalition will lose.

The second-term senator described Ruto’s ticket as strong while speaking about the intrigues surrounding the selection of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as his deputy.

He exuded confidence that they would win the August 9 elections, while stating that he would be taking a break from politics. Kindiki revealed that he phoned Gachagua to congratulate him on winning the election.
