Jirani Smart Microfinance PHOTO|NATION

After being captured on film hitting a young employee, the government has ordered the immediate arrest of a manager of a microfinance organization.

On Friday, June 17, Nyamira County Commissioner Michael Lesimam stated that officials from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were on the ground investigating the event that sparked national outrage.

An employee of Jirani Smart, a major microfinance institution specializing in asset financing for rural clients was assaulted by a supervisor, according to police.

The boss was shown kicking and beating one employee who was sprawled on the floor in the viral video, while a female coworker continued to work at her desk undisturbed.

The man who assaulted the employee was heard scolding him of squandering corporate resources by making repeated travels to Oyugis Town in Homa Bay county, according to the footage.

The victim implored for compassion and asked coworkers to intercede, but the boss turned a deaf ear.

A segment of the internet is outraged by the occurrence and they are now urging the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to guarantee that the culprit is prosecuted in line with the law.
