Azimio la umoja one Kenya presidential running mate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua

Raila Odinga, Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate, is the most popular candidate in Nairobi according to Tifa Research.

Raila leads with 50% of the vote in a survey issued on Tuesday, while Deputy President William Ruto comes in second with 25% whilst George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party finishes in third with 7% of the vote with 18% of those polled remain unsure about who to vote for.

In comparison to May, when Raila had a 41% advantage, the survey shows an increase in his support while DP Ruto side saw a one-percentage-point dip compared to May where he had 26%.

The survey was done on June 20, 2022, with 632 respondents, all of whom are registered voters with interviews carried out over the phone.

Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja, who is running for Nairobi governor as a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), is still the most popular candidate, with 40% of voters backing him, Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya flagbearer Polycarp Igathe is in second place with 32%.

“Regarding the gubernatorial and senatorial contests, the former is now a much closer race than it was two months ago, with Senator Johnstone Sakaja of UDA only slightly ahead of his main opponent, Jubilee’s Polycarp Igathe (40 per cent vs. 32 per cent),” reads the poll.
