Speaking to the press, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Chairman Johnstone Muthama said the party has not formed any formal coalition with ANC led by Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya led by Moses Wetangula.

He said the parties are yet to sign any agreement and are only ‘friends’ working together to unite the country.

“As far as we are concerned, DP Ruto is the UDA presidential candidate and Musalia Mudavadi is the presidential candidate of ANC, in other words we are independent but working as friends. We are friends, when the time of agreeing on the coalition terms we will deal with it.,” Muthama stated.

The chairman dismissed any claims that power had been shared amongst the coalition leaders.

“Our stand is that democracy takes place either through nominations or issuance of nominations certificates. We have come together as friends and are in talks to see how we can move together and move forward together,” he added
