On Thursday, July 28, Kaimosi Friends University College (Kafuco) will become the first university in Vihiga County when it receives a charter at State House in Nairobi.
Kafuco will receive the charter in a ceremony that will be attended by various education authorities and presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The college was approved by the Commission for University Educatioin following repeated inspections, Principal Jack Nandi confirmed.
“We have been invited to attend the ceremony in Nairobi. We are first required at the Commission for University Education offices today (Wednesday) for rehearsal,” he said.
The college, which has under the advisership Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology since it was founded in September 2014 and has been complied with all standards, according to Prof. Nandi.
He said the Commission of University Education authorized the issuance of the charter after confirming that the college can successfully run a fully licensed university.
