Kenyans were upset by the necessity for mobile money pins upon Hustler Fund enrollment and voiced worries about the protection of their personal information.
The pin protects an account in the event of any unforeseen circumstances, such as the loss of sim cards or the theft of mobile phones, claims Hustler Fund.
One can also restore access to their account by using the pin after replacing lost or stolen SIM cards.
“Your money is safe because your mobile money pin protects your Hustler Fund account. Once you replace your SIM card at your mobile network operator outlet, you will be able to access your Hustler Fund account using your current mobile money pin,” part of thei statement read
The pin also makes it easier for the fund’s management to verify the phone’s owner when money is dispersed.
