Five suspects have been seized by the authorities and are being interrogated after the killing of six people in Widho village in Lamu West on Sunday night. A man was also killed on Monday night and three houses torched in another attack at Bobo-Sunkia Village on Monday night.

The area security officers said five suspects were being looked into after suspected to be linked with Al-Shabaab terror group which is being held accountable for the killings

Lamu County Police Commander has promised more suspects will be arrested especially with the on going raid in Widho and surrounding villages.

The Police Commander has asked residents to share any information that might held in capturing these suspects. They are looking for both local and non-local suspects.

He continued to affirm fleeing residents of their safety. “We have intensified security in all areas of Lamu. So, residents shouldn’t be worried,” he said.
