DP William Ruto with ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga

On Wednesday, Deputy President William Ruto will campaign in Kisii County.  The second-in-command will go on a charm drive in the county, which primarily backs Raila Odinga.

In previous elections, Kisii has overwhelmingly backed the former Prime Minister. Ruto will hold economic forums in Kisii and Nyamira on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Following his visit of the broader Gusii region, the DP will have a series of engagements in Busia, Bungoma, and Trans-Nzoia counties on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Rallies, business seminars, and religious services are just a few of the events planned.

DP Ruto’s action comes as Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance, ramped up his campaigning in the Mt Kenya area.

The campaigning began in Nyeri the day after retired President Mwai Kibaki was laid to rest.

Later, he went on a visit to Laikipia and Kirinyaga counties, where he promoted his country’s agenda.
