If the two-thirds gender rule is not satisfied, the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has warned to reject political party nomination lists.
There can be no more than 193 seats of the same gender among the 290 MNA seats. In the Senate, no more than 31 of the 47 seats can be held by the same gender.
