Nominated Interior Cabinet Secretary, Prof. Kithure Kindiki has pledged to aggressively combat the banditry and livestock rustling threats in the country once he lands the job.
“As soon as I take office, the number one assignment will be to ensure we set free this country from criminals, bandits, cattle rustlers and terrorists. We will speak less because security does not require speaking,” he stated.
The former Tharaka Nithi senator spoke before the vetting Committee claiming that he had been given instructions to see to it that the banditry issue was permanently resolved.
He pointed out that even the oldest democracies use violence to defend 99% of its citizens from the 1% who seek to disrupt the system of governance.
“I have no apologies to make about this. Criminals have to be faced as criminals, period! We will do to criminals what needs to be done to them under both national and international law,” he stated.
