Allies of Amani National Congress (ANC) leader, Musalia Mudavadi, have supported Jubilee Party’s decision to purge members perceived to be working against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s national unity and development agenda.
Members of Parliament (MPs) from Vihiga County urged the President to hasten reorganization of his administration to enable speedy achievement of post novel Covid-19 Economy Recovery initiative.
According to MPs Alfred Agoi (Sabatia), Ernest Ogesi (Vihiga) and Beatrice Adagala (Women Representative) observed that internal wrangles that have rocked the ruling party had adversely affected government operations.
The leaders spoke on Friday at Chavakali Boys High School in Sabatia where the host Agoi,, fulfilled his promise by donating foodstuffs and face masks to the Vihiga County Covid-19 Emergency Response Committee (VICEREC).
The Sabatia legislator gave out a personal donation of 600 bags of maize worth Sh.2.4 million and 8000 face masks.
Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo who chairs the VICEREC received the contribution and thanked the MP for honouring the pledge made two ago.
However, he advised politicians to either seek truce or bolt out of the government in order save the Presidency from what he described as constitutional embarrassment.
“It is regrettable that ongoing infighting within Jubilee Party continues to negatively affect the economy and service delivery to the electorate that voted it to power,” Agoi said.
According to Ogesi, President Kenyatta needs support so that he can focus energy towards amelioration of challenges affecting Kenyans, especially during this moment when the
country is fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The President cannot handle two weighty issues at the same time,” said Ogesi in reference to Covid-19 and Jubilee Party wrangles.
