Chief Justice Martha Koome

The seven petitions opposing the declaration of William Ruto as president-elect have been combined into one by the Supreme Court of Kenya.

On Tuesday, August 30, Chief Justice Martha Koome addressed the court and declared that they had decided to combine the petitions in an effort to challenge Ruto’s election win.

The CJ further declared that former Prime MInister Raila Odinga, will be the main petitioner in the case.

“We find that all those petitions raise similar issues and seek similar orders. Therefore we order that the 7 petitions are consolidated,” she stated.
