Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo

Former governor William Kabogo claims the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition is seeking to compel a repeat of the presidential election by supporting wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid. He asked Mount Kenya residents to vote on August 9 to guarantee that the Kenya Kwanza coalition wins the first round.

“We have not arrived yet and we cannot write off this guy because he is old – he will give us a run for our money. For Rigathi Gachagua to become Deputy President, we must come out and vote to attain the 50+1 mark. There is a plan to take us to round two. We must push to ensure we win in the first round,” he stated.

He was speaking during Rigathi Gachagua’s stepbrother funeral service which was attended by other United Democratic Alliance (UDA) members in the area.

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen of Elgeyo Marakwet expressed delight at Mr Gachagua’s selection as DP William Ruto running mate nominee. He criticised the Azimio coalition, claiming that it is made up of those who have been in power since the 1970s.
