The government has reduced the cost of maize flour to Sh100 for a 2-kilogram packet over the course of the upcoming month, providing millions of Kenyans who are struggling with severe inflation that has driven up the cost of essentials with much-needed relief.

The Ministry of Agriculture said on Monday that it had reached an agreement with millers to lower the price of flour, which in recent weeks has been selling for more than Sh210 at major retail shops, significantly reducing consumer purchasing power.
