Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria

On Sunday evening at Bomas of Kenya, presidential contender Mwangi wa Iria of Usawa Kwa Wote accused the electoral body of deleting his name from the nomination record.

A video surfaced of the Governor claiming the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) attempted to disqualify him from the presidential election.

The candidate said that he had submitted all of the required documentation to the commission and was baffled as to why his name was not listed on the Commission’s nomination schedule.

If his name is not put to the register, he has vowed to stop the presidential election scheduled for August 9.

The presidential hopeful stated that his candidature had been endorsed by 48,000 voters from 24 counties in line with the IEBC guidelines.
