Philip Ebei Aemun has officially assumed office at ministry of Agriculture, Pastoral Economy and Fisheries in a handover ceremony chaired by the County Secretary Peter Eripete this morning at Mifugo Complex.

Immediate former County Executive for Agriculture Chris Aletia and Chief officers; Jacob Lolelea (Agriculture and Land Reclamation) and Abdullahi Yusuf (Fisheries, Livestock Production and Veterinary Services) were present.

In his remarks, Eripete called for teamwork among Government officers noting that it would ease service delivery to residents of Turkana.

He called for professionalism among the civil servants and further challenged them to be ready to withstand criticism from different quarters that he said comes with holding public offices.

Eripete acknowledged shortage of staff in some department but said that the County Government was working on modalities to fill the gap despite the ballooning wage bill that he revealed was straining recruitment of additional staff.

CS Eripete who is also the head of Public Service cautioned absentee civil servants urging staff to be at their work station to offer service to Wananchi.

Improved service delivery to residents of Turkana, Eripete said, was key priority for the County Government.
