President Uhuru Kenyatta rallied the 1.5 million Akorino supporters yesterday in support of Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate in the August 9 elections.

The President awarded the church more over Sh100 million in gifts, including a five-acre plot of land in Naivasha where it would build its general council headquarters yesterday at the Kasarani Gymnasium, where he had joined Akorino believers in honoring the church’s 100 years of existence where he asked believers to support Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Mr Odinga.

He thanked the church for supporting him over his two terms in office and urged them to pray for the country as the general election approaches.

Another Sh10 million was contributed by the President to help the church’s activities, as well as Sh1 million for the purchase of books and publications about the church’s history. He praised the church for its unwavering commitment to the country’s liberty and independence since its founding in 1922 and urged them not to give up now as Kenya faces new difficulties like as corruption.
