Half Military parade honor the body of the former late President Mwai Kibaki after arriving for the last funeral service at Othaya Approved School ground

The late retired President Mwai Kibaki’s funeral is currently taking place at the Othaya Approved School.

The service is being presided over by Nyeri Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are among the luminaries attending the service.

Raila Odinga, the head of the ODM, is also present.

Muheria began the service with prayers before expressing the Kibaki family’s and their late father’s wishes that politics not be played during their father’s funeral.

“I appeal to you that in line with the late President’s wishes, there will be no politics,” he said.

Muheria then went to the Lee Funeral Home to pray for the body, which arrived just after 11 a.m.

The burial service will be attended by ex-vice presidents Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi, as well as Moses Wetangula, Leader of Ford Kenya.

Speakers of the bicameral parliament, cabinet secretaries, senior secretaries, and lawmakers are among the other high-ranking officials in attendance.
