Manchester City defended their Premier League championship in spectacular fashion coming back from a 2-0 deficit against Aston Villa to win 3-2 with three goals in the closing 15 minutes.
Manchester City won their sixth Premier League title in 11 seasons on Sunday, coming from behind to overcome Aston Villa 3-2 in the final to avoid being beaten by Liverpool.
Until lkay Gündoan started the comeback in the 76th minute, City was down 2-0 against Villa. Rodri leveled the score two minutes later, and Gündoan pushed City ahead in the 81st minute.
Liverpool’s misery continued as they missed out on the Premier League championship by a single point, eking out a hard-fought 3-1 win against Wolves at Anfield on the last day of the season. City won the league with 93 points from 38 games, while Liverpool finished one point behind. So Liverpool’s domestic treble ambitions are over, but they can be pleased with another successful season in which they won the League Cup and FA Cup and fought City tooth and nail for the Premier League crown. Jurgen Klopp will now concentrate on Saturday’s Champions League final versus Real Madrid.
