Mathira MP, Rigathi Gachagua is mourning the death of his elder brother, 78-year-old James Reriani Gachagua.
Rigathi stated that his brother has been sick for quite some time.
“We thank God for the life of our eldest brother and the head of the greater Gachagua family, James Reriani Gachagua who has gone to be with the Lord after a long illness bravely borne,” wrote MP Gachagua on his facebook account on Sunday.
Reriani was also a brother to the late Nderitu Gachagua, the first Nyeri governor, who died in office on February 24, 2017, at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London while receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer.
Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga eulogized Reriani.
“Later, I condoled with the family and friends of the late James Reriani Gachagua at his Hiriga home in Mathira West. Reriani, 77 was the step brother to Mathira MP Hon. Rigathi Gachagua. The late who was a telecommunications engineer was a hard working, generous and kind man,” Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga tweeted.
