The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has set a date for the launch of the Integrated Transport Management System (iTMS), which would assist the country reduce road accidents.
The integrated system will be operational by the end of June according to NTSA Director General George Njau who spoke on Tuesday, June 7.
When fully implemented, the new technology will allow police officers to gather information and propose appropriate action for violators of Traffic Rules.
“At the end of June, we shall roll it out countrywide where police will be equipped with smart applications to help them automatically collect key road data for easy action,” he said
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the new system will include contemporary speed limit checkers as well as gadgets that can readily flush out non-valid drivers.
“The new application will involve having modern speed limit checkers authenticating valid road users’ documents, among others,” NTSA director added.
