President Uhuru Kenyatta today, Wednesday, February 23 is expected to assemble over 6,000 delegates from Mt Kenya at the Sagana State Lodge, a conference known as the Sagana Three.

In the meeting he is expected to officially endorse ODM party leader Raila Odinga as his preferred successor in the August 9, 2022 General Election.

Its been a year since he held a meeting at Sagana where he addressed his support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) as well as fought back the resistance.

The President is expected to explain what brought about the rift between him and Deputy President William Ruto. An act that has been termed as ‘the Ruto bombshell’.

Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu termed it as irresponsible for the President not endorsing his favorite candidate to take over after him.

“What if the person who takes over after him goes and sabotages everything that he has done over the last ten years?” he inquired.

Kieni MP Kanini Kega confirmed that allies of DP William Ruto will not be invited.

“This will be a housekeeping meeting between the President and his soldiers from the larger Mt Kenya region,” he said
