After mayhem erupted at the polling site during the Orange Democratic Movement primaries on Tuesday, former Kisumu deputy governor Ruth Odinga was forced to evacuate Urudi Primary School in Nyakach constituency.
Ms Odinga had gone to the polling place to check on reports that an unidentified person was voting in a separate polling station.
However, as she was leaving the voting station, several youngsters clashed, prompting the police to fire several times into the air to disperse the tumultuous gathering. For a few minutes, the voting process was halted. A single person was hurt.
